While waiting for some of my new BA stuff to arrive, I started prepping everything that has been collecting dust. I sanded mold lines, built, and prepped for magnetization the following:
23 Tactical Marines
15 Terminators
10 Assault Marines
5 Death Company
Lesmartes
Dante
Baal Predator
I will take some pictures of the other stuff as I magnetize everything, but things are sort of getting out of control. I enjoy installing magnets on my models. I love swapping Assault Marine Jump Packs for standard Packs or dropping Shuriken Cannons for Shuriken Catapults on the fly. It’s clean, effective, and efficient.
The Baal Predator I want to take from a Rhino to a Baal Predator complete with every equipment load out supported by magnets. The vehicle is prepped and in a week or two, I will spend a day magnetizing everything all at once.
Then I see these Terminators and I kind of want to do the same thing. I have 15 new Terminators with 7 sets of dual Lightning Claws, 7 sets of Hammer/Shields, 7 sets of Fist/Bolter combos, and a bunch of other crap like Assault Cannons, Heavy Flamers, Chainfists, Cyclone Missile Launchers, etc. Outside Apocalypse I will prob never field more than 5 Terminators at a time so this really isn’t a pressing issue, but I really like the idea of swapping the war gear on the fly. The problem is the shoulder pads; I either magnetize those too or buy enough for every arm. I will try to keep snagging cheap bits on ebay and trading when I can to have 15 sets of everything.
So now, as I am building my Death Company, the Sanguinary Guard, Assault Marines, etc I am thinking what is stopping me from magnetizing all of these guys too? Where does it end? Eldar do not have all of these crazy options so outside of vehicles and a few upgrades sprinkled through Exarchs and the Wraithlords so this has never really come up before. I have 63 Tactical Marines so I think can easily cover all of the special weapons on the base troops, but I only plan on buying 5 -10 Sanguinary Guard and I am sure 6 months from now I will kit them out differently.
